Presented and marketed in the early months of 1991, the new Futura '91 has only the denomination in common with the previous one. From a technical point of view, the AF1 Futura '91 adopts substantial modifications that are not limited to the superstructures - only apparently similar to the Futura '90 - but which also affect the chassis that receives a new fork and the mechanics that sees the adoption of a new boiler with two additional exhaust boosters. The price in 1991 was 6,380,000 lire and initially, the Futura '91 was offered only in a color with typical Aprilia shades and combinations, purple / silver / black with black rims, black pilot seat and silver passenger seat. A set of colors that characterizes the whole Aprilia '91 production. Since May 1991, an unprecedented Reggiani Replica version has also been marketed: it was in fact since 1989 that Aprilia had not sported a livery inspired by its racing cars for its road and as for the previous Replica, the Futura Reggiani Replica also adopts a color that is witness to the inspiration of the good Aprilia designers. The Futura '91 therefore once again proves to be a competitive bike and at the end of the season won the Sport Production championship in the over 21 category with Massimiliano Gervasio.
