Often considered a super scooter, the Aprilia Atlantic 500 is heavy but sprightly. It is also quite roomy, practical and stable which means it suits all types of rider – even the more hardcore among you! The 2002 MY Aprilia Atlantic 500 has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 460cc, single cylinder powerplant mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and can produce a claimed 39 horsepower and 40 Nm of torque. This maxi-scooter comes standard with a spacious, dual seat that offers lumbar support for the rider and a passenger backrest. A telescopic front fork, dual adjustable shock absorbers as a rear suspension, dual front disc brakes, and a large windscreen for improved protection against the elements. In 2005, it received some updates which smartened up its look, as well as improved and strengthened the frame and the suspension. This makes it a nimble bike with plenty of torque, more than capable of taking you places in comfort. The seat is plush, the leg space is ample, and the ride is smooth and predictable.
