Launched in spring 1992 as the successor to the AF1 line, the RS 125R Extrema was close to an all-new machine: a fresh aluminium frame, a conventional braced aluminium swingarm in place of the AF1's single-sided steel arm, and new fairing and tail. The Rotax two-stroke was carried over with porting changes. It was a sharp, track-focused lightweight that felt more at home on fast roads than in town traffic.
