The RS4 125 arrived in 2011 as Aprilia's first four-stroke 125 sports bike, taking over from the long-running two-stroke RS 125. Its fuel-injected, liquid-cooled DOHC single is tuned to the A1 learner-licence power cap, and it wears bodywork styled after the RSV4 superbike, with the triple headlight and an exhaust tucked into the belly pan. The aluminium perimeter frame, 41 mm upside-down fork and radial four-piston front brake gave it a chassis well above the usual learner-bike standard, and a quickshifter and single-seat cowl were offered as accessories.
