From 2012 the RS4 50 carried on essentially unchanged mechanically, with the twin-spar aluminium frame, upside-down fork, radial four-piston front brake and six-speed two-stroke single introduced in 2011. Updates over the following seasons were largely about paint schemes and graphics, including a 2017 cosmetic refresh. It remained Aprilia's RSV4-styled learner sportbike for the AM licence class until the RS 50 name returned.
