The Mille R was the sharper, solo-seat version of the Mille, introduced in 1999. It kept the standard 128 hp engine but swapped the Showa/Sachs suspension for fully adjustable Öhlins units front and rear, added an Öhlins steering damper, forged OZ wheels and carbon parts, and shed around 4 kg. It was pitched at riders who spent time on track.
