The 2008 RSV 1000 R continued the post-2006 formula with no major mechanical change: a 143 hp 60-degree V-twin meeting Euro 3, Öhlins fork up front, Sachs shock on an APS linkage at the rear and Brembo radial brakes. It was also the 10th year of Aprilia's V-twin superbike, and it remained a comfortable, torquey choice in a class increasingly ruled by lighter four-cylinder bikes.
