The 2009 RXV 5.5 received the same overhaul as the 450: a stepper-motor throttle body with a new ECU for easier cold starts, an FIM-compliant side exhaust, a lighter and more flexible swingarm and a lighter rear caliper. A new rear frame dropped the seat by about 5 mm, total weight fell by roughly 2 kg, and black rims with red, black and white paint marked the new year.
