The second-generation Scarabeo 200 brought a restyled, more modern body and a new liquid-cooled four-valve 181 cc engine with noticeably more power than the old 176 cc unit. Twin preload-adjustable rear shocks, a 260 mm front disc and wider 110-section front tyre sharpened the handling, while the classic 16-inch wheels kept it stable over bumps. It sat as a brisk, comfortable commuter able to cope with ring roads as well as city traffic.
