The mid-life Falco kept the 118 hp sports-touring twin and its aluminium chassis. The changes were mostly finish: the frame and swingarm turned black, the silencers got a carbon-look finish, and new colour schemes arrived. Testers rated it a comfortable, well-balanced alternative to the harder-edged RSV Mille, sitting between that bike and the touring-focused Futura.
