The Sportcity 250 replaced the carburetted 200 at the top of Aprilia's big-wheel Sportcity range, bringing a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 244 cc Quasar single from the Piaggio group. Fifteen-inch wheels, twin front discs and a 35 mm fork gave it a planted, motorcycle-like feel, while the restyled body added a helmet-sized under-seat bay, a lockable front glovebox with power socket and a part-digital dash. It was pitched as a sporty commuter able to handle ring roads as well as city traffic.
