The R Factory was the top version of the second-generation SR 50, pairing the stocky 13-inch-wheeled chassis with the DiTech direct-injection two-stroke. Compared with the plain R it brought the injected engine plus a fuller digital dash with tachometer, trip computer and lap timer, and it was the only SR 50 offered in North America. It aimed to give a 50 cc commuter scooter the look and kit of a small sportsbike.
