The SR Motard 50 was a cheaper, simpler take on the SR theme, borrowing supermoto styling rather than the race-replica look of the SR 50. It used an air-cooled, carburetted Piaggio Hi-PER2 two-stroke instead of the liquid-cooled engines of its sportier siblings, with 14-inch alloy wheels, a 220 mm front disc and a rear drum. Room under the long two-seat saddle for a full-face helmet underlined that it was built as an everyday city runabout.
