The Wind replaced the plain Tuareg 125 in 1988 with full, almost futuristic bodywork that included a bulky tail section shaped like a second tank. It switched to the Rotax 123 engine and an upside-down fork, and power rose slightly, but the extra size and weight made it less nimble on tight trails than before. It was aimed more at road riders who wanted the desert-racer look.
