The Wind turned the Tuareg 350 into a proper desert-raid lookalike, with a low front mudguard, a big fuel tank and fuller bodywork. The 349 cc four-stroke single gained a six-speed gearbox and kept its roughly 33 hp, with oil routed through the frame to help cooling. It was a comfortable, economical dual-purpose bike more suited to long trips than to hard off-road riding, and it was updated again in 1988 when the 600 Wind joined the range.
