The standard Tuono arrived in 2003 as a much cheaper, series-production version of the limited-run Tuono R. It kept the RSV Mille frame, the 60-degree V-twin and the brakes. Instead of the Limited's Öhlins parts, forged wheels and carbon panels, it had a Showa fork, a Sachs shock, cast wheels and plastic bodywork. A steering damper was standard to tame the wide motocross-style bars. On the 2003 bikes the frame and swingarm were finished in light bronze.
