The 2007 Tuono 1000 R is the standard version of the second-generation Tuono that arrived for 2006, essentially an RSV 1000 R superbike with the fairing replaced by a small nose cone and a tall, wide handlebar. It uses the 998 cc 60-degree V60 Magnesium twin with fuel injection, a Showa fork and Sachs shock, and twin 320 mm Brembo front discs, and it sits below the Öhlins-equipped Factory in the range. It was aimed at riders who wanted superbike performance with an upright, street-friendly riding position.
