The Factory was the top version of the second-generation Tuono 1000 R. It shared the standard bike's frame and V-twin, but added fully adjustable Öhlins Racing suspension at both ends, a gold frame and anodised forged OZ wheels. Carbon-fibre belly pan, side panels, mudguards and spoilers cut about 4 kg compared with the standard R. It used the engine from the RSV 1000 R Factory, with bigger exhaust valves, larger exhaust pipes and revised mapping. Reviews found the Öhlins suspension rode bumps a little better than the Showa and Sachs parts, and the lighter wheels made it turn in more eagerly.
