The first Avenger put a low-slung, laid-back cruiser body around the familiar air-cooled 180 cc single from Bajaj's Pulsar range, tuned for low-down pull rather than outright speed. Styling took obvious cues from small Japanese cruisers, with a long seat, forward-set pegs and plenty of chrome. It was aimed at Indian riders wanting a relaxed, affordable cruiser.
