A contemporary 1980 road test of the 600 cc Benelli four, which gave a Japanese-style engine in an Italian package at roughly 2,000 pounds. The tester praised handling, braking and finish but found the top end flat, the lighting poor, the tank small and the gear lever awkward. It sat between sports and touring and was judged expensive against the Suzuki 650.
