The Concept 101 was BMW Motorrad's take on the American bagger, unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como in May 2015. Built around the six-cylinder engine from the K 1600 tourers, it had a long low body with integrated side cases, wood, leather, carbon and brushed-aluminium detailing, and triple-outlet exhausts on each side. It was designed with BMW's Designworks studio in California and assembled by Roland Sands Design; the name refers to the engine size in cubic inches and to California's Highway 101. It was the third in a run of BMW concepts shown at Villa d'Este, after the Concept Ninety and Concept Roadster.
