The 2008 F 650 GS was a new bike under an old name: BMW dropped the 652 cc single and fitted a detuned version of the F 800 GS's 798 cc parallel twin, giving 71 hp. Compared with the F 800 GS it has a 19-inch cast front wheel, a conventional fork, a single front disc and a lower seat, aimed at newer or shorter riders and road-biased touring. ABS and heated grips were options.
