2007 was the last model year for the single-cylinder F 650 GS Dakar, which carried over unchanged from 2006. BMW then replaced the F 650 GS name with a 798 cc parallel twin, and the single was later revived as the G 650 GS. As a run-out model it remained a tall, comfortable dual-sport for road touring and light off-road use.
