BMW freshened the F 800 R's looks for 2012 without touching the mechanicals: the front side panels that double as radiator covers and the front mudguard were redesigned and painted in body colour, the rear shock spring turned red, and a body-coloured sport screen and white indicators became standard. It went on sale in Europe in December 2011 with three new colour schemes.
