Presented in autumn 2023 for the 2024 model year, the M 1000 XR is the M-division take on BMW's sports-tourer: an S 1000 XR chassis with an engine adapted from the M 1000 RR, revving to 14,600 rpm and making 201 hp. Shorter upper gears and a 47-tooth rear sprocket sharpen acceleration, while M brakes, M winglets, a titanium exhaust and Race Pro riding modes give it track-day ability without losing the XR's touring comfort and pillion capacity.
