The later Paris Dakar (badged PD) continued the long-range formula of a 35-litre tank, fairing, crash bars and luggage on the 60 hp, 980 cc boxer, and reached the UK once plastic tanks became legal there. Period tests found it slow and old-fashioned but comfortable, predictable and very well equipped for touring; it bowed out in 1996 as the last of the two-valve GS models.
