One of four limited 75th Anniversary models BMW offered in 1998 to mark 75 years of BMW motorcycles since the 1923 R 32. Mechanically it was the regular R 1100 GS, but it wore Marrakech Red paint with Alpine White tank striping and a black seat, carried '75' badging, and came with ABS, heated grips and pannier holders as standard. Buyers also received an edition folder with a certificate of authenticity, history album, leather key case and pin.
