The last R 1100RTs were offered in colours such as Glacier Green, Sinus Blue and Siena Red but were otherwise little changed from the 1996 original. They kept the 90 hp boxer, Telelever/Paralever chassis, ABS and large touring fairing until the 1150 cc RT replaced them.
