In 2008 the R 1200 RT remained the air/oil-cooled single-cam tourer introduced for 2005, still rated at 110 hp. It offered strong wind protection, roomy ergonomics and a nimble feel for a 259 kg bike, with partial-integral ABS standard and ESA, cruise control and audio offered as options.
