For 2010 the R 1200 RT received the double-overhead-cam boxer derived from the HP2 Sport, raising torque to 120 Nm and the rev limit to 8500 rpm while peak power stayed at 110 hp, plus an exhaust flap for better mid-range. The fairing and screen were revised for less turbulence and noise, the cockpit and audio system (now with USB/iPod connectivity) were redesigned, and ESA II became available.
