The R 1300 RS took over from the R 1250 RS in 2025 as BMW's half-faired boxer sports tourer. It uses the 145 hp 1300 cc ShiftCam twin, a new steel frame and an upside-down fork in place of the older Telelever. The riding position is a little more sporting than before, but shaft drive, wind protection and luggage options keep it a practical long-distance machine.
