The R 18 Classic turned the base cruiser into a light tourer, adding a windscreen, pillion seat, leather-look saddlebags, twin auxiliary LED spotlights and a smaller 16-inch front wheel with a fat 130/90 tyre. The engine and chassis are those of the R 18, but the extra equipment brings the weight to 365 kg and the seat up slightly to 710 mm. Keyless Ride was standard, and BMW also offered a chrome-and-pinstripe First Edition.
