BMW file

Launched in 1973, the R 60/6 became the entry model of BMW's /6 series after the R 50/5 was dropped. It gained the new five-speed gearbox, revised instruments and controls, but kept a duplex drum front brake and slide carburettors to hold the price down. Not cutting-edge even when new, it still sold well, with 13,511 going to private buyers plus a large number to government agencies.
