BMW file

The R 60/7 carried the 600 cc boxer into BMW's restyled /7 generation in 1976, gaining the 24-litre tank previously reserved for the R 90 S, with a recessed filler and roll-over valve. Its 40 hp was modest against Japanese middleweights, but road testers rated its smoothness, finish and durability highly. Government agencies were its main customers, which kept it in production even as the market shifted to bigger engines.
