BMW file

The second-generation R 65, which moved the 650 cc boxer into the larger R 80 frame with the single-sided Monolever rear swingarm and a central shock. It was offered in a full-power 48 hp form and a 27 hp version for insurance and licence classes, and stayed in the range as BMW's smallest boxer until 1993. Tall gearing and long-travel suspension suited it to relaxed touring on rough roads.
