In its final years the R69S remained in production alongside the telescopic-fork R69US, with the Earles fork still preferred by sidecar users. Changes were minor and regulatory, such as a revised noise rating from 1966 and DOT reflectors and decals on 1969 US bikes. Production ended in 1969 when the all-new /5 series arrived.
