In its first full production years the R75/5 established BMW as a maker of fast, reliable sports-touring twins, and the 750 became the best-selling model of the series. The engine, frame and long-travel suspension were unchanged from launch, while the large 24-litre tank began to give way to a smaller standard tank from 1971.
