The R75/6 replaced the R75/5 in late 1973 and brought a five-speed gearbox, a front disc brake and revised instruments, while keeping the long-wheelbase chassis of the late /5. Soon after launch the kickstarter became an optional extra. Road testers rated it a smooth, quiet and comfortable tourer that also handled well on twisty roads.
