BMW file

The Monolever R 80 replaced the twin-shock R 80/7 as BMW's entry boxer, using a single-sided swingarm that also housed the drive shaft. The fork and 285 mm front brake came from the K 100, while the 50 hp 800 cc twin was carried over in milder form. It was built until 1992 and offered relaxed, low-maintenance touring.
