BMW file

The later R 80/7 in its 55 hp high-compression form, the stronger of the two outputs BMW offered. From model year 1981 the boxer gained Nikasil-coated cylinders and Brembo fixed front calipers, and electronic Hall-sensor ignition replaced the contact breaker. It remained BMW's mid-size twin-shock tourer until the Monolever R 80 took over in 1984.
