BMW file

Later-run R 850 GS, unchanged in substance from the 1998 launch bike: the 848 cc oil/air-cooled four-valve boxer from the R 850 R in the R 1100 GS adventure chassis with its tall screen, beak-style front mudguard and 25-litre tank. It was replaced when BMW moved the GS family to the R 1150 GS and dropped the smaller-capacity version.
