Launched to mark 90 years of BMW Motorrad, the R nineT is a stripped-back retro roadster built around the last air/oil-cooled 1170 cc boxer. Unlike most BMW boxers it uses a conventional upside-down fork, and its modular frame, removable pillion subframe and simple wiring were designed to make customising easy. Brushed aluminium tank, spoked wheels and ABS were standard.
