The Motorsport edition is the launch-year S 1000 RR dressed in BMW Motorsport colours: Alpine White, Magma Red and Lupin Blue panels, set off by a black frame and wheels, silver swingarm and a red shock spring. Underneath it is the standard 193 hp superbike that marked BMW's entry into the litre-class sportbike market, with optional Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control. The paint was a factory option at extra cost rather than a separately engineered model.
