The second-generation S 1000 XR (from 2020) was rebuilt around the latest S 1000 RR-derived engine with Euro 5 compliance, longer top gears for relaxed cruising and a new frame using the engine as a stressed member. It shed around 10 kg, gained Dynamic ESA as standard, full LED lights, a TFT dash with connectivity and a sharper, sportier body.
