The 500 cc Clubman version of the BSA Gold Star, a road-going sports single derived from the B-series with a swinging-arm frame and tuned alloy engine. The 1956 DBD34 added clip-on bars and a 36 mm carburettor and is often seen as the definitive Gold Star. The line ended in 1963 when the Lucas magneto it relied on was no longer made.
