Buell Motorcycle Company was an American maker founded in 1983 by Erik Buell, a former Harley-Davidson engineer, and based in East Troy, Wisconsin. It built sport bikes around Harley Sportster and later its own V-twin engines, with the S1 Lightning, the Firebolt, the Ulysses and the 1125R. Harley-Davidson owned the company until it was closed in October 2009. Erik Buell Racing then built the 1190RS and 1190RX, and the Buell name came back in 2022.
