The Blast was Buell's entry-level single, built around a 492 cc air-cooled pushrod engine derived from the Sportster V-twin layout. It was aimed at new riders, with a low seat, self-adjusting valve lifters and a belt final drive that needed little upkeep. This first run launched the model in 2000 as a cheap, friendly learner machine.
