A hand-built works racing single from the late 1960s, one of only about six made. It used the new wide-case crankcase with Fabio Taglioni's desmodromic valve gear and a close-ratio five-speed box. Taglioni judged that the single had reached its limit with this design, which pushed him toward joining two cylinders into the L-twin Ducati still builds.
