Ducati's off-road 450 aimed at the American dirt market, built with a desmodromic single in a new Seeley-style frame. It arrived late in the era of four-stroke competition bikes and fewer than about 450 were made. Handling was its weak point, as the engine sat too far back in a short-wheelbase chassis. Other sources say R/T stood for Road and Trail or Regolarita Turismo.
