Shown at the Milan show in December 1979, this Taglioni-designed V-twin broke with Ducati tradition through a trellis frame, belt-driven desmodromic overhead cams and a Campagnolo front brake. It became the 500 SL Pantah in production. Reviewers found the engine smooth and strong, the handling excellent and the styling divisive.
